Ajit Sancheti is CEO and Co-Founder of Preempt and has over 20 years experience in IT security and executive leadership. Previously, he co-founded Mu Dynamics (acquired by Spirent Communications) and held various management roles. Before Mu Dynamics, Ajit was part of the Corporate Development Group at Juniper Networks and an integral member of the team that developed the industry’s first Intrusion Detection and Prevention system at OneSecure (acquired by NetScreen). Prior to OneSecure, he spent 7 years at Western Digital, holding various engineering and management positions. Ajit received his M.S. in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and his MBA from INSEAD, France.

Roman Blachman is Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Preempt and is responsible for product strategy and research and development. Prior to Preempt, Roman was a leading Apple iOS mobile security strategist and researcher at Lacoon Mobile Security (acquired by Check Point Software Technologies). Roman also served more than ten years in the elite Israeli Defense Forces in Research and Development, where he led cybersecurity product development teams and a mobile cybersecurity research team. He received the Excellence Award from the Head of Israeli Intelligence Branch in 2006 and was chosen in 2018 as one of MSRC’s Top 100 Researchers. Roman is an expert in enterprise-grade security systems.
Vice President, Product Management
Eran Cohen is the Vice President of Product Management. Eran has over 20 years of experience in product management, sales, and technical services with an enthusiasm for technology. Before Preempt, Eran held various products management roles in startups and leading networking and security companies. Most recently he was at CloudLock managing their Cloud Security UBA product (acquired by Cisco 2016). Prior to that he lead Imperva’s (IMPV) web application security products and architecture, where he proved his technical knowledge and sales skills. Additionally, Eran has held senior roles at Checkpoint Software Technologies and Radware. He has a voracious passion for learning; most recently earning a practical architect degree where he graduated with excellence. Eran is a also a prolific blogger and leads practical training sessions on Product Management.
Vice President, North American Sales
Patrick Doherty is an experienced sales leader with more than a dozen years of experience in technology solutions, most recently hailing from Tenable Network Security. A graduate of Bryant University with a degree in business communications, Patrick previously was responsible for expansion and growth of B2B cybersecurity products primarily in the Northeast (US) region. As VP of Sales at Preempt, he is building on successes achieved in that market and leading Preempt’s North American sales teams to meet and exceed the company’s goals.
Kapil Raina joined Preempt Security as vice-president of marketing in October 2019. Kapil is responsible for leading the Preempt marketing team’s strategy and execution, including brand, AR/PR, demand generation, and product marketing functions. Kapil brings 20+ years of cyber security product and marketing, having built and run product, marketing, sales and strategy teams at startups and large brands such as HyTrust, PatternEx, VeriSign, VMware, and Zscaler. Kapil is also the founder and chair of the AI Security Alliance, the only global, cross-industry organization guiding in the security of the development and use of AI.

As managing director at General Catalyst Partners, Steve invests in enterprise infrastructure start-ups. Until 2013, Steve was chief technology officer and senior vice president of Research and Development at VMware. During his tenure, Steve helped build a world-class 3,000-person engineering organization that delivered numerous industry-changing products; he was also named InfoWorld’s CTO of the Year in 2009. Prior to VMware, Steve co-led the development of a virtual CPU with “code morphing” technology at Transmeta Corporation, and held roles at SGI and MIPS Technologies. Outside of work, Steve focuses on the advancement of children’s education, particularly around STEM. Steve holds a PhD and a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University, and a BA with distinction in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin.

Patrick Heim joined ClearSky as an Operating Partner and Chief Information Security Officer. Mr. Heim is a senior security executive with a over two decades working in security spanning Fortune 500 enterprises, cloud providers as well as early stage security technology companies.
Prior to joining the Fund, Mr. Heim was Head of Trust and Security at Dropbox. He also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Trust Officer at Salesforce.com. Patrick has also held Chief Information Security Officer roles at Kaiser Permanente and McKesson Corporation. In the startup world was Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at eNetSecure (a subsidiary of Applied Signal Technologies / Raytheon). Mr. Heim also has previously held senior positions at nCircle and Ernst & Young.
Patrick holds a B.S. from Indiana University marketing as well as an MBA in international business / finance from the University of South Carolina.
